I
was born in Richmond, Virginia but spent the better part
of my childhood on the shores of the Outer Banks of North
Carolina, very near the spot where the Wright Brothers
first took flight. I am the oldest child of three and
only girl in our wonderful, slightly goofy family.
Any
credit for the good things we have become is owed entirely
to our amazing parents. They are leaders by example. Dad
taught us that a chased dream can be realized with perseverance,
hard work and a dose of reality from time to time while
Mom, a lifelong educator, showed us that your true worth
is calculated by what you help others accomplish. Supportive
in all we do, I think they are still a bit puzzled and
tickled that all of their kids pursued a life in the arts.

Eventually,
we relocated to Fredericksburg, VA where I attended high
school. I then made a beeline to Tallahassee, FL and Florida
State University. I was lucky enough to spend a year as
an Acting Apprentice at the Actors Theatre of Louisville
following graduation. It was exhausting but fulfilling
work. The icing on that cake continues to be the wonderful
friends that I made and maintain to this day.
My
next destination was Birmingham, Alabama. There I performed
with Birmingham Children’s Theatre, was cast in
my first commercial and unwittingly met the man that I
would eventually marry, albeit many years later and to
be honest, the city of New Orleans is mostly to blame
for that happy accident.
Great
friends lured me to Chicago where I live with my husband
and our furry, four-legged children. Over the years, Chicago
has allowed me the opportunity to pursue theatre, film,
commercial, industrial, print and voiceover work. I have
lived here far longer than any other place in my life
and I am proud to call the Second City home. I love to
travel as often as possible, find great new restaurants
and take in the creative work of my peers. I am truly
blessed and cannot wait to see what happens next! |
